About this Herbal:
If you've ever read the Bhagavad Gita (one of the most sacred of all Hindu texts), you'll have heard of Krishna. If you've heard of Krishna, you may have heard of Tulsi Krishna, AKA Holy Basil. Tulsi Krishna, a basil-like, aromatic plant that has been cultivated to honor the god Krishna for centuries. Typically found in the entranceway to Hindu homes, this leafy wonder is used for both religious and therapeutic purposes.
Therapeutically, Tulsi has long featured prominently in the ancient Indian practice of Ayurveda, where it is known as rasayana, a restorative herb. Practitioners believe the herb can be used to detoxify the body, treat respiratory disorders, lower cholesterol, even treat hiccups. Some herbal specialists classify the herb as an adaptogen herb, which supports the body's reaction to stress - both physical and mental. Given the prevalence of both types of stressors in modern life, Tulsi Krishna might just be the hero herb we've all been looking for.
This organic, small-batch dried, cut Tulsi Krishna makes the perfect addition to restorative tea and herb blends. When life calls for a break, slow down and give thanks.
