Dried Chile Cascabel adds moderate heat and is a great addition to stews, soups, or sauces. The skin of the Cascabel Chile does not easily dissolve and is so it is recommended to remove the chile once the required heat of the dish is achieved.
Cascabel means “rattle” in Spanish and it makes sense when you pick it up and give it a shake as this bell-shaped chile works as a tiny maraca. One of the lesser-known chiles, the cascabel has a loyal following throughout Mexico and lends itself well to sauces and salsas.
